I have an old La-Z-Boy chair in my den. I sit in it all the time….the so-called leather covering of the chair, over the years, has worn and all these years later continues to flake off…. so I cover it with an old comforter.

Today I decided to wash the comforter, pulled it off the chair, put it in the washing machine and then put an old sheet over the chair to keep my clothes from getting covered in small bits of pretend leather.

Rhu is super resistant to change. Yesterday, when I took her out for her morning ablutions, she went out, did her business and came back in. We weren’t messing around because I couldn’t find her raincoat. So she got rained on and was highly unimpressed.

This morning, I tried one of the dog jacket/covers that my friend sent me …. In spite of the fact that I know it’s too big for her and it’s going to require some alteration, but it made me laugh because again she went outside did her business and as I was bending over to bag it, she started to drag me back to the house… and walked right out of the jacket thing that she was wearing.

So after I started a load of laundry, I came back to sit in the den, and she was sitting in the doorway to the den glaring at the chair balefully … It took some coaxing, but I finally got her back into the chair. She’s not impressed though she sniffed it high and low and has settled in beside me, but she’s retaining the right to escape should the chair make any untoward movements.

I swear the only being more resistant to change than I am is my dog lol
