Banks suck…

It is my profound opinion that banks and bankers and call centres that are working for banks and bankers are set on this planet to drive me nucking futz.

When I came back from holidays in July I found out that one of my credit card companies had “sold” my account to another credit card company.

Both companies owned by banks. As the snotty call I’d received from the 2nd co around why I hadn’t made a payment to them in late July was the first inkling of said account exchange I’d had….I checked my bank account and sure enough my early July payment went to the original cc co.

Said snotty call being the first I’d heard of the sale in mid July…by the time I finally got the official paperwork for the new card it was early Aug. The whole shebang resulted in a myriad of calls betwixt me and both banks and finally last week I get the card for my new account.

Actually physically went to the bank and picked said card up.

Up to this point I have not as yet received a statement though…and every time I’ve spoken to someone about the card I’ve been assured that this would not in any way affect my credit rating, that I would not have to pay until I got a statement and there’d be no extra interest….and that they were “noting this on my account”

HA!

Today I get home to both a letter and a phone call from the new bank. The phone call demands that I call the call centre immediately. The letter sad that I am now 3 months in arrears…that my account is locked, that I will be paying 27.99% until said arrears and 2 more payments are made in a timely fashion going forward blah blah blah…

FFS

So I call them…at the call centre….and guess what?…not one of those 2 dozen asshats I’ve spoken to notated my account as they said they would. What a surprise eh?

In the meantime my own bank is trying to get the payment I made to the original cc co back….it’s apparently in the never never land also known as the inter webs some where as well as the 2 previously mentioned (in another FB post) deposited amounts to my chequing account that don’t belong to me totalling almost $1600.00….of which I have no idea who owns.

And that is why I drink.

Many of you know
That I’m bald

If you don’t know why…
Go here:http://casite-651400.cloudaccess.net/?s=Where+oh+where+is+your+hair%3F

i’ll wait… 🙂

I’ve started treating myself
to the occasional manicure
as well as foot care being a diabetic

one must take care of one’s tootsies)

Anyway…I go to 2 different places
To get my manies and my pedies

I get my feet done at a shop
that’s been doing them for years
As the manicures
are relatively new to me
I go to a place
that I can walk in

I did go after work today…
payday and a Friday
what else does a girl need eh?

but I digress…

this evening
the person
doing my mannie
was a young man
probably in his 20s
although as I get older
I do have a time judging age
specially for people
of other ethnicities

Getting a manicure
can be sort of intimate
this young fellow
was shy at first
but ya’ll know me
Queen of the over sharers eh?

I got him talking eventually
turns out
we are both from Ontario
and migrated to BC

He asked why I came
and I told him the story
of my ex the thief

I asked why he came
and he told me
that his parents hadn’t liked
the weather in Ontario

Eventually we got to talking
about hair
He asked me why I shave
And I told him
I told him that while I worked
a corporate job I wore wigs
but I no longer found it necessary

He eventually confided in me
That he was wearing a wig
I asked why
and he told me a horrific story

of a brother
of a large pot of boiling soup
and scars causing hair loss
lots of hair loss

Oddly enough
I’d not noticed his
facial burn scars
Until he said scars
and then
I spoke to him of my facial scars

I also told him it was a good wig
I’d have had no idea
if he’d not mentioned it

He shyly thanked me
And said he never talks to people
About his scars
And wondered out loud
Why he told me?

I guess it’s one of my gifts
this business of being able
to share my stories

And sometimes
they bring people out of themselves
A bit
and allow them to share their stories too
