Biggest Full Moon of the Year

BIGGEST FULL MOON OF THE YEAR: The biggest full Moon of 2009 is coming this weekend. It’s a perigee Moon as much as 30% brighter than lesser moons we’ll see in the months ahead. January 10, 2009

Perigean tides:
A perigee Moon brings with it extra-high “perigean tides,” but this is nothing to worry about, according to NOAA. In most places, lunar gravity at perigee pulls tide waters only a few centimeters (an inch or so) higher than usual. Local geography can amplify the effect to about 15 centimeters (six inches)–not exactly a great flood.

January 8, 2009: When last month’s full Moon rose over Florida, onlooker Raquel Stanton of Cocoa Beach realized that something was up.

“The Moon was stunningly gorgeous–and it looked bigger than usual!” she says. “My whole family noticed and watched in awe.”

Like millions of others around the world, she had witnessed the biggest full Moon of 2008–a “perigee Moon,” 14% wider and 30% brighter than lesser Moons she had seen before. “I’ll never forget it.”

Alert: It’s about to happen again.

News of my demise…..

is greatly exaggerated

I did a slight half gainer offa the high board at work today and spent the afternoon at VGH having x-rays etc

I was in the cafeteria at lunch time and walked past the coffee station…one minute I was walking and the next I was flying thru the air with the greatest of ease…

landed on my lower back and my butt…
and had a second of not knowing who or where I was and then realized that there were about 30 people standing over me asking me if I was ok

they tell me I hit my head on the wall on the way down….
I don’t remember that….

but I’m all good now….

end result – no breaks…slight concussion…sore neck & back bruised bottom – headache is gone and my arse smells like raspberry vinaigrette! (which is apparently what was spilled on the floor that caused said flying walenda!)
