will wonders never cease….

I have been arguing with my GP for over a year
about feeling like crap
complicated by the meds he had me on

I’ve jokingly made reference
to what a treat it isn’t
to experience problem diabetes
along with menopause
over the coures of a couple of years

and I’ve made mention many a time
to the challenges I’ve experienced
trying to get the diabetes diet
and the Crohn’s Disease diet
to play nice together

I went to an endocronologist on Wed
he reduced my diabetes meds
added a diabetes buffer into the mix
and put me back on HRT

he says I should eat for my Crohn’s diet
and he’ll medicate me for the diabetes

today is the 2nd day
not one hot flash so far today
not from the diabetes
or from the menopause.

for the first time in 2 or 3 years
I haven’t felt like I need a shower
and a change of clothes by 9AM
what a treat!

life may be good again.
we have to celebrate the positives eh?

it’s hard…

It’s hard to watch
a parent plan the end of their life

My father’s lung cancer has progressed…the miracle drug has stopped working and he’s off it…he’s coughing more each day
He’s very grounded in his spirituality, he’s as concerned for his family as his family is for him – we have no idea how quickly things will progress from here.

He and I, have, over my 57 years, had many a tenuous period…and lots of high drama, he came from a cycle of violence and he perpetrated that violence on me as a child.  We’ve worked our way through that and developed a great father and daughter relationship as a result (give er take the odd hollering match)

I love him dearly – and I know that losing him will be very hard…just as I know it’s as inevitable as the sun coming up in the morning.
I pray it’s kindly for him – that his love of his god will see him through this next chapter in his life.
and I pray I’ve become a daughter he can be proud of.

I know that the wheel will turn…and in some small way he has made his mark.

In Love and Light
